The eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau in Indonesia has disrupted flight operations for Singapore Airlines (SIA). A total of 19 flights on the Singapore-Jakarta and Jakarta-Singapore routes were canceled on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
These cancellations were made due to volcanic activity and the dispersal of volcanic ash from the Anak Krakatau eruption.
In an official statement on Sunday (September 6, 2026), Singapore Airlines said the affected flights covered round-trip routes between Singapore and Jakarta.

Situation Remains Dynamic
Singapore Airlines has warned that the situation remains fluid. Because of this, other SIA flights between Singapore and Indonesia could also potentially be affected.
Passengers are advised to check their individual flight status through Singapore Airlines’ flight status page and ensure their contact details on file remain active, so they can receive the latest updates on any schedule changes.
“For passengers who booked directly through Singapore Airlines, rebooking or refund requests can be submitted through the assistance form provided by the airline,” Singapore Airlines stated.
Meanwhile, passengers who booked through a travel agent or partner airline are advised to contact the agent or airline where they purchased their ticket for assistance.
“Singapore Airlines apologizes to all affected passengers for the inconvenience caused by these flight cancellations,” the airline said in its statement.
