Citilink is offering free flight rescheduling and refunds to passengers whose flights have been affected by volcanic ash dispersal following the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.
The volcanic ash has disrupted Citilink’s flight operations due to the temporary closure of several airports, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK), Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP), Husein Sastranegara Airport (BDO), and Radin Inten II Airport (TKG).
What Affected Passengers Can Do
For passengers whose flights have been impacted, Citilink is providing a no-cost rescheduling option, along with refunds in accordance with applicable policy.
The airline says it will continue coordinating with aviation authorities and relevant parties to monitor the ongoing volcanic ash situation. Updates regarding flight operations will be communicated periodically as conditions on the ground develop.
Citilink has also issued an apology for the inconvenience experienced by passengers, expressing appreciation for their understanding and cooperation throughout the disruption.
“We’re taking these steps to ensure the safety and security of travel,” said Tashia Scholz, Corporate Secretary & CSR Group Head at Citilink.
How to Stay Updated
Citilink is urging passengers with affected flights to continue monitoring flight status through the airline’s official social media channels. Passengers can also reach out through the Citilink Contact Center at 0804 1 080808, or use the Linka live chat feature via WhatsApp at 0811 1011 0808.
What This Means for Travelers
If you have a flight booked through any of the affected airports in the coming days, it’s worth checking Citilink’s official channels before heading to the airport, as volcanic ash disruptions can shift quickly depending on wind direction and ash concentration. Given the free rescheduling and refund options available, there’s no need to rush a decision, take the time to monitor updates and choose the option that works best for your travel plans.
